Sad Sick people

Please take some time out of your busy day to read this...pass this on to others...its sad and horrible!

Westboro Baptist Church is going to picket President Gordon. B Hinckley's funeral on Saturday here in Salt Lake!
Are we not to judge people? Isn't that the Lords job?
Im not kidding you...Im in tears right now that these people think they are doing the right thing. Its sick and sad that they are doing this!
For those of you who don't know Gordon B. Hinckley, he was the longest living Prophet of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Kinda like the Pope but not...
Here is somethings people have said concerning the Prophet :
Gordon B. Hinckley, the venerable and beloved president and world leader of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was described by veteran 60 Minutes television journalist Mike Wallace as "a genuinely remarkable man ... (a) warm and thoughtful and decent and optimistic leader."
Despite his age, President Hinckley was blessed with a keen mind, good health and incredible energy as he led the global expansion of a faith that, according to U.S. News & World Report, "has sustained the most rapid growth rate of any new faith group in American history."
President Hinckley was by far the most traveled of the 15 prophets who have led the Church since the restoration in the early 19th century, logging more than 250,000 miles over the years in meeting with, instructing and inspiring Latter-day Saints in dozens of nations. In fact, at the age of 95, he traveled nearly 25,000 miles on a seven-nation, nine-day tour to Vladivostok, Russia; Taipei, Taiwan; Hong Kong, China; Delhi, India; Nairobi, Kenya; Aba, Nigeria; and Seoul, South Korea.

He was the driving force for the erection of dozens of Latter-day Saint temples in the past few years, bringing the number to over a 120 around the world. Temples, which are special buildings reserved for the highest sacraments of the faith, are significantly different from the thousands of chapels or meetinghouses used for Sunday worship.

These people are going to be there picketing a funeral. They are seriously messed up....even if you don't believe in the mormon faith you don't do this to people. They have been at funerals for our passed away military men and women. They picket anything with the Pope's appearance calling the catholic church a Whorehouse of pedophiles....
Sad sick people...
here is the flyer for the picket that will happen this saturday..

Blonde Moment of the Year

Photobucket
I had the blondest moment ever last night. Nick and I are laying in bed watching Unwrapped I think. Well, they started explaining how corn becomes "popcorn." I looked at Nick and completely serious said "I didn't know popcorn came from corn!" He just looked at me and started laughing and asked "Then where did you think it comes from?" He had nothing to say after that...

I seriously thought popcorn wasn't really from corn. I don't know why or where that thought came from! I thought it was one of those foods that came from something weird with a name that people wouldn't be scared of! Just another processed food... But thanks to Unwrapped I learned that popcorn is corn that's been dried out and when the shell becomes hot and holds heat inside it goes POP......reason for the whole name!

I can be such a blonde at times... I'm not even kidding! Moments like these aren't too often, but when they happen it's about as blonde as you can get!

Till We Meet Again

Photobucket

Sunday night Nick and I are watching TV when all of the sudden "Breaking News." You never really know what to expect. I didn't expect this at all, our wonderful loving Prophet, Gordon B. Hinckley passed away at 7pm. I'm still in complete shock. Nick and I just sat there for a second and then he went to tell his parents to turn on the news. As soon as he left the room I burst into tears. The only prophet that I can remember had passed away. A dream so unreal...

I called my mom and told her, she paused and then asked if I was serious. We then hung up the phone so she could call Mimmim and Papa (her parents). She called me back wanting to know everything I knew. We sat there in complete silence for a minute, trying to let things sink in...

The thought still brings me to tears.

Him and his wife were so adorable together and I'm glad that they are together again. You could see the love in their eyes for each other, they were so happy!
I want to be like them at that age, always smiling and never letting go of your eternal companion. What a wonderful example for every couple... I think they were just the cutest couple. I always smile when I see pictures of them together.

He was such a wonderful man and an inspiration to everyone. I was never able to personally meet him but he is one of those people that you don't have to. You listen to everything he says and you feel like you have known him forever. His spirit was so strong and touched you with every word that he said. His words were gentle but somehow so strong. He was a wonderful prophet. Every time I heard him talk I got this warm comfortable feeling. I had the opportunity to go to Women's Conference and just to see him sitting there and then actually seeing him walk to the podium and speak was a dream come true. I wasn't able to completely listen I was in complete shock that there he was, the Prophet of the Lord, is in the same room as me. He is the only prophet I can remember and he has done a wonderful job with building the church. I loved his sense of humor, many times I remember laughing from something he said. I loved his stories from growing up, I always pictured this wonderful fun loving child. Gordon B. Hinckley touched many peoples lives and I'm sure he will still touch many more. He is deeply loved and truly missed.

Im Done...

I finished my Twilight book today. I started it late Thursday night and finished it this evening! I couldn't put it down. Every chance I had I would read more... It was a truly amazing book and I can't wait till I read the next 2 in the series. But for now I'm waiting on some fansty book that Nick wants me to read. I read a little at Barnes & Noble one day and liked it. But it was in the middle of the book and so of course its better then the begining!

Nick and I have this one little girl in our Sunday school class and she had me laughing really hard today. She ran to one of the other teachers during primary to say HI, and when she was running back in she goes, "Gosh Dangit!" I had to hide the laughter but I was ready to burst! She said it again in class and I have to try so hard not to laugh. A 3 year old shouldn't be saying that. So with a stupid grin on my face I told her thats not very nice to say. She looked at me like I'm from another world.

Its Been a Long Day

What a day! This morning my wonderful hair dryer died.
Photobucket

I had this hair dryer that was my Mom's when she was about 17. She bought me tons of hair dryers and I hated them all so I would take hers. It's the only one I've ever liked. Well, this morning I was blow drying my hair and then it started to spark a little. It's done this for a while so you just turn it off and let it cool for a while then everything is fine again. SO about half an hour later I turn it back on use it for maybe 2 mintues then the handle started to spark and then it caught on fire! Im holding it away from me and just keep yelling for Nick. I'm thinking a million things "Water...wait no that would cause an eletrical shock, put it on the floor and run...nope I would catch the house on fire, where is Nick?" Finally, I decide it's safe to unplugg it. Nick walked into the bathroom and I'm crying because my hair dryer is dead. It really was sad for me! Then he blew in it and nothing but smoke came out...then he ran it under water to make sure it's safe to put in the garbage. I cried and cried.

So now my hair is still wet kinda and I have nothing to dry it with and my hair isn't cute when its half and half. I'm kinda like carrot top but with a different color. So I put it up in a ponytail because it's Saturday and we have to hurry to Costco's for sample day!

Well, the band I put in my hair was just pulling a ton so I was trying to stretch it out; I have to break a certain part of it. Nick went to help and broke it! I just burst out in tears... First the hair dryer then my hair is horrible and I have nothing to pull it back with.

Samples were great this week though! Chili, chicken noodle soup, lil' smokies, spring rolls, and some other things but it was nice. I didn't think about anything bugging me!

So we went to get gas in the car and I'm mad about my hair again so I take the broken band and tie it so that it still works but is really tacky! But it worked so I didn't care. Luckily we had to run to Smith's so I was able to buy some bands that would work better than mine.

So at this point it's still early in the day so we went to a dollar movie. We went and saw Mr. Magoriums Wonder Emporium

The movie was really cute. Nick even said it wasn't that bad!!

We went to Wal-mart and Nick bought me a new hair dryer... Nothing will ever be able to replace the one I had. Old and wonderful...

Twilight

Photobucket
This book is absolutely amazing!(Twilight by Stephanie Myer)
Everyone kept telling me to read it and I finally am. Having a hard time putting it down though! If you haven't read it...DO! Its a series I guess but its amazing. All the girls at work kept asking Nick if I had read the series. And I guess even girls that my mom works with LOVE the book! They all say you fall in love with the main character....200 pages into the book and Im in love!

This is the review from Amazon.com
"As Shakespeare knew, love burns high when thwarted by obstacles. In Twilight, an exquisite fantasy by Stephenie Meyer, readers discover a pair of lovers who are supremely star-crossed. Bella adores beautiful Edward, and he returns her love. But Edward is having a hard time controlling the blood lust she arouses in him, because--he's a vampire. At any moment, the intensity of their passion could drive him to kill her, and he agonizes over the danger. But, Bella would rather be dead than part from Edward, so she risks her life to stay near him, and the novel burns with the erotic tension of their dangerous and necessarily chaste relationship.

Meyer has achieved quite a feat by making this scenario completely human and believable. She begins with a familiar YA premise (the new kid in school), and lulls us into thinking this will be just another realistic young adult novel. Bella has come to the small town of Forks on the gloomy Olympic Peninsula to be with her father. At school, she wonders about a group of five remarkably beautiful teens, who sit together in the cafeteria but never eat. As she grows to know, and then love, Edward, she learns their secret. They are all rescued vampires, part of a family headed by saintly Carlisle, who has inspired them to renounce human prey. For Edward's sake they welcome Bella, but when a roving group of tracker vampires fixates on her, the family is drawn into a desperate pursuit to protect the fragile human in their midst."

I have to go read some more....its a new years resolution. Im going to atleast read a book a month but in this case Ill be done by Sunday!

Catch Up Game

Well, I have some catching up to do. Luckily, its not to much!
Brandi and I went shopping at The Gateway on Friday. I have only been there once of twice and I love it there! She had the boys with her and Deklan had me laughing so hard at one point. He kept running in front of us, well there were cones on the sidewalk and he stopped looked at them, looked at us, kicked them over and ran off again. I thought I was going to die of laughter. Brandi yelled for him to come back to us. He came running back, looked at the cones and said " I should probably pick these up" picked them up and came running. The look on his face when he kicked them over was priceless. So, I told Nick I would be home about the time he came home. Oops traffic killed me! I was supposed to be home at 5:30 but I didn't get there till 7! I felt so bad...I learned not to take I-15 around 5!

Nick and I have started a new tradition also. Saturdays are sample days at Costco so we go there for lunch. I'll grab 2 of something and if we really like it then he will go and grab 2. It's amazing how samples fill you up! Then we walk around talking about how we want to open a candy store or something and how easy it would be to make a profit. I want a candy shop like in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory...

Monday we were blessed with 10 inches of snow! I love the snow but hate the timing. It was a 4 day weekend for me but because of the snow Nick took his car and I was stuck home for the day. I don't mind being home its the thought that I can't leave when I want that drives me nuts. So I sat around and cleaned while watching a marathon of America's Next Top Model...when my plans were to go to the temple and to Old Navy...that changed! Oh well things got done around the place.

Nick started feeling yucky on Friday night and still isn't completely over it. Poor thing! I didn't allow him to go to work yesterday. He was so pale and had a fever. I came home early to take care of him and I knew he was feeling better when he wanted doughnuts and cupcakes. So after the BYU game we went to the gas station and got those along with energy drinks for today.

We spend most of our evenings watching tv. I have never watched as much tv in my entire life as I do now. Last night we were watching this show called "Life After People" it was really interesting. It explains what would happen to the world if we all suddenly dissappeared. What would happen to our pets? Homes? What would change in a week, a year, 5 years and so on...it tell what will happen up to 1000 years. We weren't able to watch the whole thing. It was on till 11 and we usually pass out in bed by 10. But the show is really interesting. It tells things that are pretty much common sense but you don't think about. I want to watch the last hour of it...I want to know what would happen in a 1000 years!

We are doing well though. Both working a ton and getting excited to go to Vegas in 2 weeks for my birthday and Valentine's! Since they are a week apart Nick says its not fair...but this is going to be the Best birthday present ever.....I have always wanted to go to Vegas! We are hoping around summer to go on a cruise too! Figured we can enjoy things like this before we start a family!

We love and miss everyone! Hope everyone is doing well....

HE DID IT!

Nick did the funniest thing the other night!
Nick and I were at John and Reelika's for her birthday. Nick like always, had gas.
Well, after dinner we are sitting there talking. John used a match for the birthday cake and that I think sparked something in Nick's mind. John had a phone call and left the room. Nick was sitting there playing with matches. Suddenly, he wants to know if you put a match under your bum and fart if it will really do what it does in the cartoons!
You can only guess what happened next....he farted on a match! light a fart

I swear to you it works! I saw it go KABOOM into a bigger flame. Nick felt it on his bum and I swear he was so excited about it! I was laughing so hard. I never thought for some reason that it would really work! He dropped the match when it went KABOOM and almost caught the chair on fire. Thankfully he didn't!
smokin hot

John comes in the room and Nick just has to try again to show him. Unfortunately, it didn't have enough gas the next time. He still talks about it. Randomly, he will be like remember the fart and the match! He gets this HUGE smile on his face. He is so proud! I was completely embarrassed but its Nick so I learn to just get over it!
I'm sure he would be more then happy to do it again. I'll have to get pictures and everything though!

Pillow Fight

Last night Nick woke me up...a little different.Usually its snoring or he has completely pushed me off the bed! Last night we had a little pillow fight.
I'm sound asleep and happy then YANK! My pillow is pulled from right under my head. I look over and Nick has a little smile on his face while he is laying on my pillow. He must of been holding both of his pillows so he grabbed mine. The fact that it scared me, I was crying a little and he just told me to be quiet and go to bed. So I roll over and keep whining saying I want my pillow back. I realize he was not giving it back. So I tried getting the pillow back from him. I pull the best I can at 1am and it's not helping at all. In fact the pillow didn't move at all. I know that Nick will eventually give the pillow back if I keep crying so I did. It lasted for a while. Finally, I think he woke up enough to realize what happened and gave the pillow back.
I wasn't to happy...I reminded him of it this morning and I guess he laughed out loud at work. I think its funny now too. Last night it wasn't even a little funny to me!

Christmas & New Years

So it's weeks after Christmas and I'm just now posting something about it! Sorry!

Christmas was interesting this year. Poor Nick was sick 2 days before Christmas. Luckily, he was feeling better by the time everyone was there. The whole family was there Christmas Eve and stayed the night. It was a change for me, but it was really nice to see everyone; all the kids running around so excited that Santa was coming that night. Christmas Eve was really nice and peaceful. We sat around eating way too much and singing Christmas songs. The kids sang songs and danced, the family talked about old Christmas memories. Christmas morning all the family opened presents from each other. Nick and I got more bake wear and picture frames... as much as we love them, we already got tons of them from the wedding! (Those were our popular gifts)
Nick and I, after spending time with family, went downstairs and had our own little Christmas. It was cute sitting by our little Charlie Brown tree, opening presents. I think we both did well with gifts for Christmas; nothing was returned and everything fit.

The day after Christmas I woke up sick, with almost exactly what Nick had, so I laid around in bed all day instead of packing. Oh well! By the 1st Nick and I were living in our bedroom. His parents needed to rent the basement out so we are living upstairs now. It's tough but its not horrible. We have a much smaller space than before, but it's less to clean for me. Amazingly, I've kept things clean with the small area!

New Years Eve we went to First Night SLC. Interesting is about the only thing I can say! It was absolutely freezing. We sat down and watched some break dancers after we walked around a little bit and then they had this fire circus thing, which we were kind of excited for. It turned out to be horrible, the people just kept doing the same thing over and over. Nick and I agreed that some of the "moves" they were doing weren't really apporiate for kids. We would look around and the kids looked completely puzzled. We weren't impressed at all. When they were finally done, we were freezing and I couldn't feel my feet and I thought my wrist was frozen! I couldn't move it at all; so we went and stood by a fire and then decided Carls Jr would be warmer, so we sat in there for a while. After a while we decided it was too cold to stay; so we went home and watched the ball drop on tv while sitting on the couch in pjs and drinking hot cocoa. We said Happy New Years to each other and watched some of the fireworks that were going on in the valley and then went to bed!

We went and saw I AM LEGEND finally! I was so excited and then I ended up leaving the moving pretty much in tears. I was so completely scared and couldn't sleep that night. The movie was good looking back on it, but my goodness, that night was horrible! We also saw JUNO and I thought that was the most amazing movie ever! I think its something that teen girls need to see. It basically shows options you have if your young and prego. It was the best movie I have seen in a long time! I recommend it to everyone!

Other than that we have been staying busy: seeing friends, going to dinner, working, shopping the normal things right? We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Years...

And Im going to make another resolution right now!
Im going to post things on here when they happen....not weeks later!
