twins?!?

Sorry I haven't been keeping up with the blog. Since Nick and I moved we don't really have the internet, sometimes we do but the connection is really horrible so I don't bother doing anything with it. I just turn the computer off and find something else to keep my attention for a while.
So much has been going on! This weekend Nick and I are going camping in Moab, Im so exited but Nick said something about scorpions and lizards that snap their tails off as a defense thing, and to be honest both things scare me a ton. Plus I know there is probably a huge amount of gross large spiders! But other then that Im excited to walk around the trails and see the red rock and everything.
Nick recently has been golfing more. I knew he enjoyed it but since I moved out here I haven't heard of him going. I knew he owned some clubs and everything but nothing more. Jacob and him a few weekends ago went to the driving range and ever since then he wants to go more. Him and some guys on friday during their lunch break went and Nick went an bought a new driver, I guess he wanted to show off to them! Then today nick and john were going to go but its so windy! After that Nick was planning on going to the driving range with Dan! Whatever makes him happy, I personally don't get golf but it makes him smile and keeps him happy so I have no complaints!
So pregnancy, the weirdest, neatest, magical thing ever~! I for weeks was having dreams that I was going to go to the doctor and he was going to say something along the lines of "Ok, we see one heart beat and wait....there is another! Looks like twins!" I talked to my mom for hours about this....knowing twins run in the family. Scary thought but Ive heard that having twins first is hard but think about the next child...one is going to be an absolute breeze! Well, April 14th was my first doctors appointment with Dr. Terry. He is a wonderful doctor! Funny, understanding, full of knowledge (doctors amaze me with everything they know!) and I don't feel rushed with anything. We sat in his office and talked with him for a little bit before the exam, he explained things, which is a huge plus for me! So we had the ultrasound and Im waiting to hear that there is 2 babies in me....thank goodness we are only having one. But to look at the screen and see our child and the tiny little heart beating so fast was the most amazing feeling in the world. I have a child that Heavenly Father is trusting Nick and I to raise the right way and teach things to, is growing in me right now! Im so thankful for this huge blessing, but like every other first time mom to be Im so scared that Im going to mess up! Also we have names...if its a boy its going to be Neacel Parker and for a girl Olivia Paige. I personally think its a girl but Nick says its a boy. One of us will be right but neither of us know...we are making silly guesses with what we want! I hope Im right though. I want a little girl so I can dress her in pink and frills. Bows and bracelets....
So Im almost 11 weeks and the sickness is completely gone. I still can't handle meats and sandwhich bread (the smell is horrible!) but everything else Im eating! I have good and bad days but I can usually look at food and know its ok, or I look at it and feel like a boulder was just shoved down my throat, an automatic NO!
Im going to Ohio next month for a week to see family. I don't think I will be able to fly for much longer. Plus once I have this baby I won't be able to go home for about a year. My mom wants to see me pregnant, I guess her coming out in November while Im as big as a house (guessing) doesn't count! Plus I want to see friends and their kids, my old ward and just everything! A week isn't long enough to me right now but when I get there Im sure 3 days will seem to long to be away from Nick, I love my family dearly don't get me wrong but Nick is everything to me.

Ill keep things updated the best I can, but I can't promise its going to be great!
We love and miss everyone!

Update

Well, I'm going on my 7th week and morning sickness hit pretty hard last week! But Ive learned to eat even though nothing taste good and then it will go away. I get weird food cravings all the time. A few days ago we were at walmart and I saw hot and spicy pork rinds, I had to have them! I ate half the bag walking home! Also, I like mustard but not a ton, now I want to put it on everything I eat! Not just a little for flavor but almost drown food in it!
We are thinking its a boy, yeah its to early to know but we all address the baby as he or him. Could that be a little sign? Watch us be wrong! We are so excited though, this is a huge blessing! I want to start buying things but I'm going to wait patiently until we know what we are having...Neacel Parker or Olivia Paige? My first doctors appointment is April 14th! Still seems forever away!
The apartment is still nice but we still haven't unpacked everything so its still a mess! I need to really focus on getting that done! We feed the ducks every once in a while and they have been cleaning the pool so I think that is going to open soon! How exciting!Warm weather is right around the corner!!!
I know I still haven't told about Vegas or put pictures up but we don't have a great internet connection at home so Ill be spending time at the library but I promise I haven't forgotten about them and do intend on getting them up soon!

Stomach flu.....?

So for 2 weeks now I haven't been feeling well. My stomach has had this weird stomach flu kind of feeling. I have been up all night, and full of energy, and constantly hungry but don't eat a ton! It's been really weird!

Well, last Friday I was running errands, and people kept asking me if I was pregnant. I kept saying no and going on with my day. I told Nick how tons of people had asked and he said "Crap, women know things like that!"

So after all the comments I was nervous and wanted to prove everyone wrong. So Saturday I ran to the dollar store to get packing tape, since we were in the middle of moving and saw they had a pregnancy test. I bought it since it was cheap... Well, I took the test, 1 line means no 2 lines means yes. Of course it's all pink at first, I come back like 15 seconds later and only see only one line, I take a deep breath close my eyes and say thank you. I open my eyes and crap there are 2 solid bright pink lines! Im thinking this isn't right, I mean I bought it for a dollar. Well I told Nick on our way to sign the lease for our apartment and well I couldn't have thought of a worse time. He was already stressed with moving and now the possibility of me being pregnant. So he said I should take another test Sunday to make sure. We told family that there was a possibility but not to get hopes up.
Sunday morning I took the other test, - ment no + means yes....easy enough. I take the test and only see the one line. Remembering last time I wait a little longer and here comes another solid pink line! Nick woke up later around noon and said "Are you still pregnant?" I said "yeah here is the test," he looks at me and says, "I should have slept longer."

So Nick and I are now expecting our first kid! And here I thought I had the stomach flu and that my body was having a hard time fighting it off! We are really excited, nervous and scared! It's a mix of everything still! I mean we weren't trying and didn't want to get pregnant till summer. But the Lord has other plans for us!

I'm so amazed with it all right now. Here we thought the baby is still basically nothing and well according to things online, Im about 5 weeks along, my baby looks like a little manatee and had nubs for arms and legs! I wanted to cry I couldn't believe that in 5 weeks that much has happened. Organs are forming and everything! It's changed my life already. Everything I eat or do is affecting this tiny sesame seed sized baby! Im going to be a mom, Im responsible for this child growing in me. I was really thinking the other day and was just amazed that the Lord trusts me with something so tiny and important.

Nick is being wonderful too, we went grocery shopping the other night and he got only healthy food. He said he wants me and the baby to be healthy and taken care of. We are going for walks every evening and eating healthy! The baby and I are so lucky to have such a wonderful husband/dad in our lives. I think we are both still in shock but already I'm impatient to find out if its a girl or boy; to feel the baby move around and kick; to see pictures...

If you have any advice you want to give, please give it. We have no idea what we are doing. I've talked to some people and they have said I've only had one but I can give advice if you want. Well, I've never been pregnant so any advice is better than me guessing! I'm so nervous but at the same time this is going to be the longest wait of my life!

I have a ton to catch up on!

So I'm really sorry that I haven't posted anything in forever. I really have no excuse just being lazy I guess. But a super quick catch up... February, Nick and I went to Vegas for my birthday/Valentines; we had a total blast. I took tons of pictures so Im going to put a slide show up here really soon, I promise. On the way there we passed this lady that was on the side of the road and seemed to be kind of upset. So Nick pulled over to help her and she waved like she was fine or something. Nick still got out of the car to make sure everything was ok and she said she just had to pull over because she had a really big burp that she had to get out!!!

That was the perfect way to start out our trip. We were there for 4 days and just loved it. It was amazing there, I can't wait to go back! But since I'm writing all this in a hurry I can't say much more.

Well as some of you know Nick and I have been looking for our own little home for a while; we spent all of February searching and found nothing great. Well about 2 weeks ago we found a place. Its on 47th south about about 9th east. It's a wonderful place, which is the reason this post is short and not full of details. We are moving in TODAY! We are really, really excited!

Our first little home; its so cute! But I promise to write more soon, but I really need to finish packing and everything!

Sad Sick people

Please take some time out of your busy day to read this...pass this on to others...its sad and horrible!

Westboro Baptist Church is going to picket President Gordon. B Hinckley's funeral on Saturday here in Salt Lake!
Are we not to judge people? Isn't that the Lords job?
Im not kidding you...Im in tears right now that these people think they are doing the right thing. Its sick and sad that they are doing this!
For those of you who don't know Gordon B. Hinckley, he was the longest living Prophet of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Kinda like the Pope but not...
Here is somethings people have said concerning the Prophet :
Gordon B. Hinckley, the venerable and beloved president and world leader of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was described by veteran 60 Minutes television journalist Mike Wallace as "a genuinely remarkable man ... (a) warm and thoughtful and decent and optimistic leader."
Despite his age, President Hinckley was blessed with a keen mind, good health and incredible energy as he led the global expansion of a faith that, according to U.S. News & World Report, "has sustained the most rapid growth rate of any new faith group in American history."
President Hinckley was by far the most traveled of the 15 prophets who have led the Church since the restoration in the early 19th century, logging more than 250,000 miles over the years in meeting with, instructing and inspiring Latter-day Saints in dozens of nations. In fact, at the age of 95, he traveled nearly 25,000 miles on a seven-nation, nine-day tour to Vladivostok, Russia; Taipei, Taiwan; Hong Kong, China; Delhi, India; Nairobi, Kenya; Aba, Nigeria; and Seoul, South Korea.

He was the driving force for the erection of dozens of Latter-day Saint temples in the past few years, bringing the number to over a 120 around the world. Temples, which are special buildings reserved for the highest sacraments of the faith, are significantly different from the thousands of chapels or meetinghouses used for Sunday worship.

These people are going to be there picketing a funeral. They are seriously messed up....even if you don't believe in the mormon faith you don't do this to people. They have been at funerals for our passed away military men and women. They picket anything with the Pope's appearance calling the catholic church a Whorehouse of pedophiles....
Sad sick people...
here is the flyer for the picket that will happen this saturday..

Blonde Moment of the Year

Photobucket
I had the blondest moment ever last night. Nick and I are laying in bed watching Unwrapped I think. Well, they started explaining how corn becomes "popcorn." I looked at Nick and completely serious said "I didn't know popcorn came from corn!" He just looked at me and started laughing and asked "Then where did you think it comes from?" He had nothing to say after that...

I seriously thought popcorn wasn't really from corn. I don't know why or where that thought came from! I thought it was one of those foods that came from something weird with a name that people wouldn't be scared of! Just another processed food... But thanks to Unwrapped I learned that popcorn is corn that's been dried out and when the shell becomes hot and holds heat inside it goes POP......reason for the whole name!

I can be such a blonde at times... I'm not even kidding! Moments like these aren't too often, but when they happen it's about as blonde as you can get!

Till We Meet Again

Photobucket

Sunday night Nick and I are watching TV when all of the sudden "Breaking News." You never really know what to expect. I didn't expect this at all, our wonderful loving Prophet, Gordon B. Hinckley passed away at 7pm. I'm still in complete shock. Nick and I just sat there for a second and then he went to tell his parents to turn on the news. As soon as he left the room I burst into tears. The only prophet that I can remember had passed away. A dream so unreal...

I called my mom and told her, she paused and then asked if I was serious. We then hung up the phone so she could call Mimmim and Papa (her parents). She called me back wanting to know everything I knew. We sat there in complete silence for a minute, trying to let things sink in...

The thought still brings me to tears.

Him and his wife were so adorable together and I'm glad that they are together again. You could see the love in their eyes for each other, they were so happy!
I want to be like them at that age, always smiling and never letting go of your eternal companion. What a wonderful example for every couple... I think they were just the cutest couple. I always smile when I see pictures of them together.

Gordon Bitner Hinckley

He was such a wonderful man and an inspiration to everyone. I was never able to personally meet him but he is one of those people that you don't have to. You listen to everything he says and you feel like you have known him forever. His spirit was so strong and touched you with every word that he said. His words were gentle but somehow so strong. He was a wonderful prophet. Every time I heard him talk I got this warm comfortable feeling. I had the opportunity to go to Women's Conference and just to see him sitting there and then actually seeing him walk to the podium and speak was a dream come true. I wasn't able to completely listen I was in complete shock that there he was, the Prophet of the Lord, is in the same room as me. He is the only prophet I can remember and he has done a wonderful job with building the church. I loved his sense of humor, many times I remember laughing from something he said. I loved his stories from growing up, I always pictured this wonderful fun loving child. Gordon B. Hinckley touched many peoples lives and I'm sure he will still touch many more. He is deeply loved and truly missed.

Im Done...

I finished my Twilight book today. I started it late Thursday night and finished it this evening! I couldn't put it down. Every chance I had I would read more... It was a truly amazing book and I can't wait till I read the next 2 in the series. But for now I'm waiting on some fansty book that Nick wants me to read. I read a little at Barnes & Noble one day and liked it. But it was in the middle of the book and so of course its better then the begining!

Nick and I have this one little girl in our Sunday school class and she had me laughing really hard today. She ran to one of the other teachers during primary to say HI, and when she was running back in she goes, "Gosh Dangit!" I had to hide the laughter but I was ready to burst! She said it again in class and I have to try so hard not to laugh. A 3 year old shouldn't be saying that. So with a stupid grin on my face I told her thats not very nice to say. She looked at me like I'm from another world.

Its Been a Long Day

What a day! This morning my wonderful hair dryer died.
Photobucket

I had this hair dryer that was my Mom's when she was about 17. She bought me tons of hair dryers and I hated them all so I would take hers. It's the only one I've ever liked. Well, this morning I was blow drying my hair and then it started to spark a little. It's done this for a while so you just turn it off and let it cool for a while then everything is fine again. SO about half an hour later I turn it back on use it for maybe 2 mintues then the handle started to spark and then it caught on fire! Im holding it away from me and just keep yelling for Nick. I'm thinking a million things "Water...wait no that would cause an eletrical shock, put it on the floor and run...nope I would catch the house on fire, where is Nick?" Finally, I decide it's safe to unplugg it. Nick walked into the bathroom and I'm crying because my hair dryer is dead. It really was sad for me! Then he blew in it and nothing but smoke came out...then he ran it under water to make sure it's safe to put in the garbage. I cried and cried.

So now my hair is still wet kinda and I have nothing to dry it with and my hair isn't cute when its half and half. I'm kinda like carrot top but with a different color. So I put it up in a ponytail because it's Saturday and we have to hurry to Costco's for sample day!

Well, the band I put in my hair was just pulling a ton so I was trying to stretch it out; I have to break a certain part of it. Nick went to help and broke it! I just burst out in tears... First the hair dryer then my hair is horrible and I have nothing to pull it back with.

Samples were great this week though! Chili, chicken noodle soup, lil' smokies, spring rolls, and some other things but it was nice. I didn't think about anything bugging me!

So we went to get gas in the car and I'm mad about my hair again so I take the broken band and tie it so that it still works but is really tacky! But it worked so I didn't care. Luckily we had to run to Smith's so I was able to buy some bands that would work better than mine.

So at this point it's still early in the day so we went to a dollar movie. We went and saw Mr. Magoriums Wonder Emporium

The movie was really cute. Nick even said it wasn't that bad!!

We went to Wal-mart and Nick bought me a new hair dryer... Nothing will ever be able to replace the one I had. Old and wonderful...
