Utah Bound

We are heading to Utah for the month of May! How awesome is that? We are leaving bright and early tomorrow morning and will get there later Wednesday night. Im spending the day packing and cleaning...and stressing but thats normal when your me! We are so excited to spend time with Nick's family and let them spend time with the boys. Nicks parents say Broden at 2 weeks old but haven't seen him since then. He is now 6 months old!!!!

Quickly, Broden had his check up this morning. He is 18 lbs 15 oz and 26 inches long. He is growing like a weed and such a happy boy with tons of hair. We have his first urologist appointment June 7th and we will go from there with his little "issue". The dr was impressed with how he is trying to crawl and the fact that he can sit for a few seconds on his own without support. Yay Broden. Well, the clothing needs folded, the house needs cleaned and we need to run a few errands! Ill try to update while in Utah but Ill be honest....it probably won't happen!

Royal Wedding

Aren't they just adorable? They are so perfect for each other and such a cute couple. I'm so happy for them. I am so excited to have the opportunity to watch the Royal Wedding! I was debating on getting up early and watching it or just watching the news all day and seeing it then. Well, my little Brody bear must have known about this debate going on in my head, because he was up at 3:30am this morning. People are filling the church, the bridesmaids are adorable and the bells just bring chills to me. I wish that I could be there, to see every second and to be apart of all the people there to support Prince William and Kate. I can't imagine all this for a wedding. Mine was simple and just the way I wanted it. No frills! I can't wait to see her dress, she is such a beautiful woman and the fact that everything has been so secretive with the dress it just kills me to not even have an idea. We all know its just beautiful though. They showed clips for Princess Diana's wedding to Prince Charles and it was so special. William and Kate are doing many things that was done in his parents wedding....

The Queen just arrived to the church in her "daffodil" yellow dress as they keep mentioning. Prince William and his brother have been there for about 30 minutes now. This truly is just amazing to me. They just showed Kate in her dress and its breath taking...oh it just brings tears to my eyes. Small bouquet, lace, full veil, tiara, and the train is said to be about half of what Princess Diana's was. This all just brings tears to my eyes, I'm such a sap when it comes to weddings. She looks just amazing, I can't imagine what she is feeling right now. I was just a stress bucket before my wedding. But the day was perfect and I hope that everything is picture perfect for William and Kate. May they have all the happiness in the world, they deserve it!

HELP!

I hate teething! It's that simple. Brody is having the hardest time sleeping, eating, and just being himself. He doesn't sleep unless he is being held. I can feel myself going insane. I can see those little pearly whites but they are causing him a ton of discomfort and not cutting through.
Neacel was great when it came to teething so I need advice moms! We are giving him tylenol and it helps but we need a miracle. Teething tablets aren't helping, and neither is teething gel.

All in all, Im getting more gray hair, less sleep and Im feeling like I might need a padded room.
I HATE TEETHING!!!!

The End!

First Time Crafter

So I have always wanted to be crafty, but always have gotten the impression that's its super time consuming and expensive. Silly me! It's not if you use discount stores. I want to put my own touch on our home, I want homemade things that I look at and smile because I love the work I put into something small that makes such a difference in the house. First I needed to get some ideas from others. A friend shared an amazing site that has everything you could think of.(Click here for site) I check this site daily and get so many ideas. First thing first....what craft to do?I chose a simple, cheap wreath idea. Wreaths can go anywhere right? I had the perfect spot to put it in my head. Thanks to Born Again Crafter I knew what project I wanted to take on, the Book Wreath. I bought the wreath at Salvation Army for .45 and an old book for .50! Of course because I wasn't a crafter before this I needed to get a glue gun. I know that it looks kind of by its own right now, but I have a picture that is going to go almost next to it that hasn't been hung yet.

The craft bug then had hit! What things could I do next? Well, I'm going to make a magnet board (still looking for the perfect frame) and homemade magnets. A cork board because I am tired of all the appointment cards and what not on my fridge. Then I realized I had some letters that were boring and still packed up. How to fix them? Mod Podge and scrapbook paper silly goose! They were a dark cranberry color before and since my living room is no longer dark colors (its now yellow's greens and brown) it needed a new look....Tada! It's on top of the tv right now, but its going in our room. At first glance I thought it looked a little hippy-ish, which isn't a bad thing, just not me. But now I love it and the fact that it was SO easy to makeAny one have ideas how to clean up the top of a tv and hide every thing on it? We have the dvd player, Wii, xbox, and a few other random things. I hate the look but have no idea what to do about it. My only thought....time to buy a flat screen and a nice entertainment center :-) Nick says no...

Watch Out Picasso!

So one night Neacel and I sat at the kitchen table and colored pictures. Neacel of course colored pictures for Grandma and Grandpa, Nana and Pops, and Uncle Josh (who is serving his mission) Well, the crayons spilled and so I cleaned them up and sent Neacel to bed. (not because he was in trouble, it was just bedtime) Well, the next day I was sitting with Broden and playing with him while Neacel was in his room playing. All the sudden he comes down and in his toy corner starts coloring on the wall! Where did he get the crayon? Who knows, I must of missed it the night before or he grabbed it and hid it before I could find it. So I quickly grab the crayon and told him no....then I go on a search to see if there was more....bad idea! It was all the way up the stairs, the landing at the top of the stairs and his bedroom. Nick had just left for school so I put Brody down for a nap and started to think of ways to clean it. Alcohol (cleans everything including nail polish on carpet!) it was taking paint off, so I tried a blow dryer to heat the crayon and then soapy water to wash it away....paint coming ff again. SO I had Nick buy magic erasers before he came home....those took the paint off too! So I thought I was stuck with "Baby blue" (which is a lot darker then you would imagine!) crayon on my walls. Then we remembered that there was paint in the basement...wonder if any of it matches whats on the walls? Why yes, yes it did! So we painted over the crayon. I still need to get his room done but I figured I should wait till I know he is done ruining the walls in there...
Enjoy some pictures from our little Picasso. They didn't turn out great but you get the picture!

April Fools

Yes, I am that far behind with blogging. Sorry, life got busy and things have been too much fun to sit and write

I was really into April Fools this year. We had a yummy dinner that I was so excited to make for Neacel. It was chicken nuggets (oreo's covered in pb rolled in crushed corn flakes) carrots and corn (yellow and orange starburst) and mashed potatoes (vanilla ice cream with caramel and a yellow starburst) and we can't forget the orange kool-aid (orange jello). Dessert was cupcakes (meatloaf with green mashed potatoes). I had this planned way in advance and spent most of the day wondering when I could start dinner! Neacel loved dinner and refused to eat "dessert" that night. He realized he was getting the good stuff first....smart kid!
Just wait next year will be even better!!!!
Ps. Keep an eye on the blog over the next week, I have a lot to catch up on and I finally have found a little time!!! Be looking for Picasso, amazing blinking baby and more....

Loud Neighbors!

So when we first moved in to our new place we found out the guy next door has passed away and that she would be moving. Of course, I was crossing my fingers for a younger family. Well, we got a family...and to be nice, I will just say its the parents and their teenage son(I won't give the description Nick and I use for them) Since they have moved in we hear music (rap of course) and their tv daily. Now the people there before...we didn't hear anything. And the couple on the other side of us...don't hear them either. So how loud are they? Very, Nick and I were watching a movie last night and all the sudden heard music again. We had the tv ON and could still hear them! As I'm writing this I hear music and something being thrown against the wall. Its just flat out rude. But how do we deal with something like this? Our super annoying neighbors don't exactly give off the appearance and vibe of being friendly. Nick and I have questioned, what do we do? Do we go over and say something? Go straight to the landlord? We have never been in this situation before. They have been here for maybe a week and its old already. All I can think is if you wake my kids you will have one angry mother pounding on your door! Advice please! What would you do if this was your neighbors?

Brody Brod

Brody Brod (nickname given to him by Neacel) is growing a little faster then Neacel. At his 4 month check up he was 16.13lbs (almost a pound heavier then neacel at 4 months) and 24 inches. He is about to get his 2 bottom teeth, and he has the cutest inch worm crawl. And yes, that is his real hair, that he was born with. Jealous? He has big blue eyes and the cutest smile. He loves food, I have yet to find something he won't eat. He loves peaches and squash though, and isn't a huge fan of pea's but still eats them with a smile. The dr told me at this age he should only be eating about half a jar of food, yeah well Brod has a big appetite and eats the whole jar and then wants a 4oz bottle to wash it down. On the 10th he rolled over for the first time, from tummy to back. Nick and him talk a lot, and I'm not kidding. Nick will say "uhhh" and brody repeats, they do this until Nick is bored :-) He is sleeping in his crib now, still in our room because I'm too lazy to walk to their room in the middle of the night to give him the binki or feed him. So he will stay with us until he sleeps through the night, or at least a 6+ hour chunk. Brody also loves people, of course during the winter and yucky months you keep your little ones covered, Broden screams and cries until you let him see everything around him. Luckily, he has had a few colds but nothing more. He loves rattles, and anything he can shove into his mouth. He smiles for Neacel and laughs at everything he does. They definitely have a special bond.

Also at his 4 month appointment, "it" hadn't dropped yet. She couldn't even feel "it" to give us a little hope of no surgery. I have this gut feeling that at 6 months we will be going to a urologist and getting surgery done soon after that. I know I should think positive, but at the same time, I want to mentally prepare myself for this and not just have it thrown at me. Luckily, I know some people that they have been through the same thing and the surgery is quick and easy. Nothing too complex. Little scarring, and a few not easy rules to follow after but they said the worse part was just knowing they had to get it done. Either way, everything will be ok!

"Three Hundred dollars please"

Neacel is one in a million. The things that come out of his mouth just amaze me. This morning I was sitting eating my breakfast and Neacel was sitting next to me playing with his dragon and a plush dino. All the sudden he goes to give me the dino then said "Three hundred dollars please" I said "No way, its a tiny dino, I'm not paying three hundred dollars for it!" He throws the dino at the wall next to me and says "You cheap!" He says things like this often, just random, off the wall things. At night he gets really goofy. We will go lay in bed with him just to talk to him and see what he says like...a goldfish wearing boots, a blue giraffe, someone is eating a bathtub etc etc. Then there are the times he rambles and you don't get a word from it then he says "Ewwwww Caca!" Neacel couldn't be anymore like Nick, its impossible. He loves and adores Nick so much. He is already trying to wear his shoes. Besides all the funny boy stuff, he is such a sweet boy. Im sure one day he will get rosy cheeks over this story but that's ok. He recently wants us to stay in bed with him. It's really cute, we will lay next to him and sing songs, and read but as soon as we say we have to go then he grabs us (like a hug) and says"Stay here, please" We will agree to a few more minutes, but again as soon as we get up to leave he begs us to stay. Once we pull apart he says that he needs hugs and kisses, even though he just got them. Neacel has never been the cuddly type, but I won't lie, we LOVE this. We love every minute of him wanting us to stay there with him. This is the same kid that jumps on you and when you say "OUCH" he gives you a hug and says "It's ok, your fine" This repeats itself till we finally get up and move.

Neacel's biggest news! He uses the Big Boy Potty now! He is doing pretty good. He usually makes it 4-6 times a day with only 2-4 accidents. He has a potty chart, and after 10 stickers he gets a ball (which we are going to buy today) after 20 a new book, 30 he gets a Buzz Lightyear toy since thats his new favorite thing. (Believe it or not he sat through Toy Story 3, he never sits still that long) After 40 stickers he gets his big boy underpants of his choice and are going to take him out for ice cream. He of course doesn't know that part because he would only talk and drive us nuts over that one thing. He is really doing great though. It can't be boring of course, its full of weird things. We put fruit loops in the potty and he makes them "float" (I had to share the picture, Im sure other moms understand the excitement on your kid finally using the potty!) We tell jokes, play with the lights, turn the fan on and off, read books, play with toys....anything to get him to sit long enough and to stop thinking about it. The minute he is distracted, he goes! It's weird, I know but you have to do what works right?

Nick and I talk a lot about how fast neacel is growing up. He truly is such a smart little boy, with such a big love for sports. This kid plays soccer and basketball better then I do, not that I'm any good but seriously, he knows what he is doing. He loves church and always talks about a boy named Jude, and how they are friends. He loves his little brother so much and doesn't hesitate to help us with Broden. We are so proud of the little smarty pants he is becoming!!

Just incase you were worried...

We finally have internet (couldn't live without that AND cable) and we are loving our new home. Everything is picture perfect, minus the 5 loads of laundry calling my name from the basement begging to be folded and put away. Oh and on moving day my camera fell out of one of the couches and one of the missionaries found it, I literally almost cried. Ok, I'll admit there was a few hidden tears. Now that the internet is back I will update in a couple of days about the boys and all the exciting things going on in our new home...for now Im going to keep watching episodes of Giuliana & Bill and folding laundry. Perfect rainy day in our home.

Little teaser....Broden is growing up faster then Neacel. Neacel should be a Big Boy here soon :-)
