My First Mothers day was wonderful. Friday night nick was to excited to wait to give me my gift so I got it that night. It was a picture frame and on one side its clay and he put Neacel's hand and footprint on it. Then Saturday night he grilled steak, cucumber salad, carrots and garlic bread. My kind of dinner. Then we had a Princess cake that's from Ikea. Its 2 layers of sponge cake with raspberry filling in the middle and frosting on top. Then they cover it with something like fondant that's lime green with chocolate in little wavy lines. So good! I love my boys so much. They make me so happy!
Neacel is growing like a weed! Thursday was his 6 month checkup and he is 18 lbs and 3 oz and 26 1/2 inches long. He eats everything, literally! We just got him a high chair
and so now he eats meals with mommy and daddy. But I had bought some Gerber teething biscuits just to try. He loves them and wears whatever doesn't make it to his mouth. He still is basically sleeping thru the night and he is always smiling and laughing. Sitting up is getting better but its still going to be a little bit. But he is showing signs of teething again, didn't we just go through this? Teething round 2 ready or not. Believe me I'm not ready!
I love this picture of him,(top left) it shows his big blue eyes and just how he is...curious about everything around him. Neacel was loving the grass. Grabbing giant handfuls and getting it all over himself.
I recently took him to the park with Jen and Jaycie and put him in a swing for the first time. Nick had said not to before because he is to small. Well, I did it and he loved it. Kept sliding down a little bit but loved it. Then we let the kids sit in the sand box but I don't think he liked that as much he kept pushing the sand away and trying to stand up. Maybe that's something Ill have to save for later. I'm so proud of him and everything he does and enjoys. I just hate that time is going by so fast. It seems like I just had him and now he can eat cheerios? and I can just give him finger foods and not worry about him choking or anything. It just seems unreal to me.
Our garden is doing OK. The weeds are doing great though! We still don't see anything from the seeds we planted but my strawberry plant is doing great. In fact some are turning red!!! I can't wait to go outside and pick a strawberry and eat it. That will be a wonderful day.
We hit a few road bumps in our new place. The couple renting to us have been getting some last minute things done before they go to the MTC(tomorrow). Well, first they had someone out to fix sprinklers so we and the couple moving in upstairs don't have to worry about it. Well, one sprinkler was broke and the water was leaking into our main living room behind the tv. Got it fixed in no time. Same day I'm doing laundry and the sink there in the mud room is full of water. I think nothing of it thinking it probably always does this but I don't stand there and stare at the sink so oh well. So about 10 minutes later I hear water hitting the floor. Laundry room carpet was soaked. Then they started laundry later that day and it flooded some more. When we walked across the floor water and soap suds would rise up. Had a plumber out the next day and that was fixed. They say things always happen in 3's right? This past Wednesday I'm doing dishes, Neacel is in the jumper and the guy upstairs in bring down some boxes.(one of the rooms they are using for storage) well he noticed the light was out in that room so he TRIED turning it back on, No luck. Then checked other rooms. No light in our room, bathroom, Neacels room or kitchen. Some plugs worked and others didn't. We had an electrician from the ward come out and he tried replacing the breaker but it still wasn't flipping back on. So he called another electrician who was there all day Thursday and most of Friday before he realized that there is a furnace room off the bathroom and someone wired the light switch wrong. So when the light in the furnace room is on it trips everything else! Other then that things are great. We are no longer living in the dark, rooms aren't flooding and the new couple move in on Saturday.
OH and the most important thing. Nick got a calling as the Elders Quorum Secretary! I'm so proud of him. He isn't 100% thrilled but only because he has to be on the phone and social but other then that he is excited. I think! I think he will do wonderful. Apparently they told him they haven't had one since January and haven't been able to find one. Until they met Nick, we have been in the ward for a month and they already got him. I know I'm next, I'm just hoping its Young Women's!!!!
