Nick's Birthday was today, and there was plenty of things to get done! I took the day off of work to get the house clean and cook and everything else. 24 hours a day just isn't working though!
I was planning to have a surprise party but Nick figured it out so it's no longer a surprise. Oh well!
Family and friends came over and we had dinner for everyone along with cake of course. Nick wanted me to make his favorite meal so I did and LOVED it. It's easy and kinda quick and feeds plenty of people.
Here is the recipe:
1 lb of ground beef
1 jar Spaghetti sauce (or Marinara)
1 jar of Sour Cream
Mozzarella Cheese
Crescent Rolls
Parmesan Cheese
The right way: Cook the beef then pour the sauce on top, layer sour cream onto that and then sprinkle cheese on that! Rub the rolls on the top side with butter, and lay the crescent rolls on top flat. Cook for how ever long the rolls should be in usually 350* for about 12 minutes
My way: get a large bowl and mix everything together! Cook the beef and then add the sauce and sour cream and spices and I even added a little cheese in it. Then lay it in the pan and sprinkle more cheese then the rolls and Parmesan and cook!
The day was wonderful and Nick was happy. There was a Jazz game on too, so that just made everything so much better!

~Thanksgiving~
WOW! Did we eat a ton...
This was my first Thanksgiving not with my parents in Ohio. This year it was with my husband and my in-laws (really weird to say) in Utah. They had the usual things to eat, nothing too weird! I loved spending time with his family and I don't remember who, but somehow the dinner table topic became puking stories; about people who ate too much on Thanksgiving and then puked and then would eat more...and the stories went for a while!!! Luckily none of us ate that much....
As soon as we were done eating Nick looks at me and says "Nap time!" We slept for a while went back upstairs to eae some dessert and then went and laid down again... We spent the whole day like that pretty much. Then we sat upstairs and watched The Incredibles with everyone... After the movie we went back to bed, Nick loves to sleep if you let him....
Nick made this AMAZING eggnog pumpkin pie.... I had some yesterday and a piece for breakfast this morning; it was that good! I made this saltine cracker toffee that his mom used to make for them.... Easy simple and yummy! Reelika made this salad that of course I'm craving....spinach leaves, raspberry vinaigrette dressing, boiled eggs cut up, bacon, croutons, chicken, and oranges... I think that's everything... It was soooo good though!!!
Nick asked a few times, if we were going shopping at midnight. (that's when the mall was opening) Luckily he was joking... I can't understand how people do that! Getting up early to save money, when you will just end up spending more than what you were intending!!! That's my view.... Not a tradition i will be starting anytime soon! I would much rather sleep than go shopping...
Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and ate a ton...i know we did!

Mr. & Mrs. Nicholas Burt
November 10th Nick and I got married in the Salt Lake Temple. It was just a perfect day...
Friends and family from out of town came to celebrate with us along with everyone here with us already.... It couldn't have been more perfect! My parents flew in Thursday night from Cleveland and they both just loved Utah! The reception was here at his parents home and TONS of people showed up...way more then what we were expecting...but it was still wonderful!
We stayed in Salt Lake for a couple of nights at the Shilo Inn for our honeymoon...went to the Jazz game, walked around town went to some new resturants that we both wanted to try...it was nothing but relaxing! We decided small honeymoon for now with us both needing to get back to work...cruise next year to the Carribean or something!
Friday we left for Cleveland. As soon as we got in Chicago Nicks first words were "wheres the mountains?" Ohio was a big change for Nick....but overall we had a great time!We had another reception there Saturday night at my old ward and some family and friends were there. Sunday we went to sacrament at my old ward...it was nice being there but then at the same time weird. On our way home Nick was so excited to go to Chicago because he wanted a Chicago dog and the pizza..we found a little place in the airport that said it was Chicago style pizza....it wasn't! Nick was very disppointed...so we had Chinese instead...Not what he was wanting. He wants the real Chicago pizza and plans on doing anything he can to get it!
Married life so far has been easy....Im trying to do the little house wife things and learning that being married isn't all fun....I mean it is fun...but getting up early to make breakfast or keeping things cleaned when you both are working...its hard work! Dinner every night...its harder then what it looks! I want to be the Martha Stewart/Betty Crocker house wife but learning those women have much more time then i do! But Nick is worth every minute of it! We both went back to work this week...and lucky me Ive been sick so I wasn't able to go in today! We both are very happy and are so grateful for everything. Its been tons of stress planning the wedding and getting through everything but it was well worth it! I love being married to Nick...he is just the best husband! I couldn't ask for anyone better!

~Wedding Bells...3 days Away~
3 more days until the big day! Its all going to be just perfect! Since I was little Ive always told my mom that I was going to get married in the Salt Lake Temple, she would laugh and say its going to be hard when we live out east. Little did we know about the road I would take to make the dream come true!
Nick and I are so excited for everything! Its all happening so fast but its wonderful to know that we have family and friends that are going to be here with us to share such a wonderful day. Our colors are the Jazz blues and a lavender. Nick really wanted the Jazz in it somehow so the colors is about it for now. Unless he surprises me with something last minute!
My parents are flying out Thursday night, this is their first time in Salt Lake so there is tons I want to do with them, but also tons of things that are going to be happening!
His house is all decorated for the reception...its so cute! The trees have lights and bows and blues and lavender is everywhere. I love it all!
We both have been blessed the past few weeks with wonderful jobs. Nick is working at National Benefits Services...and I don't completely understand the job so I'm not going to try and explain it...Ill ruin it! I'm working at an optometrist office as a receptionist and learning tons! Its hard work dealing with insurance companies and glasses. But we both love our jobs so its all worked out!
I couldn't ask for things to be better. I have a wonderful husband to be, a good job, two great families to be apart of, and Ill be with friends and family on one of the most important days in my life!
